Large deep round basket with a great dark patina. A little smaller in size than a half bushel basket. The base is turned out of Mahogany and has three concentric scribes with a slotted button head for a plug, both trademarks of many baskets made by Chadwick. Made by Frederick Chadwick (1857-1936),c. 1920-1930, 10” Diameter x 12 ½” High. Chadwick worked a good part of his life at the Fire Department on the Island, he was also a carpenter, and worked at the Old Mill.
